447.025 Tyson's Corner Repeater
Revised June 17, 2006
The “447.025” repeater consists of a General Electric MASTR II continuous-duty exciter and power amplifier feeding a Sinclair Radio Labs SRL-335-2 antenna. The transmitter’s 775 watts ERP plus the antenna’s omni-directional 6dB of gain provide excellent coverage. The repeater controller is a CAT-300. The CAT-300 controls both the repeater. There is no PL tone on the input or output of the repeater.
Single transmissions are limited to a maximum of three minutes. When the incoming carrier drops, the repeater will reset the timer, sound a courtesy tone and identify itself if it hasn’t done so within the last ten minutes. If the timer expires while a carrier is present, the repeater will announce “Repeater Time Out” and shut down its transmitter. Once the incoming carrier is dropped, the transmitter will be re-enabled and the repeater will announce “Repeater Time Out Canceled” and return to normal operation.
